Which city fits a military household

Fort Collins is the largest job and university market (Colorado State University, UCHealth, tech). It is often the first name people search. Inventory at the entry of the VA-loan price band can move quickly. South and east Fort Collins trade some Old Town walkability for newer housing and an easier run to I-25.

Loveland puts you closest to the VA Clinic. Thompson School District, lakes, and a slightly different price band than Fort Collins are the usual reasons families look here after the first weekend of tours.

Windsor sits on the county line between Larimer and Weld. Newer subdivisions, I-25 access, and a short drive to the Loveland clinic make it a frequent PCS shortlist city. Confirm school district boundaries house by house — they are not uniform across town.

Greeley often offers more house for the payment, which matters when you are using 0% down and watching residual income. UNC, a growing employment base, and the Weld VSO in town are the practical pluses. Drive it at commute hour before you decide.
