Serving Weld County
Updated October 2026.
Mead Town is what REColorado lists as the original townsite, and it is the only part of Mead that feels traditionally walkable. The grid centers on Main Street, where a handful of buildings date to the early 1900s — including the 1906 building at 322 Main Street — and where the town's small business district still operates. Housing is a mix of early-1900s cottages, mid-century ranches and newer infill on compact lots, which makes this the most affordable and most varied inventory in town; recent listings have included detached homes in the $300Ks and small commercial and residential buildings with no HOA and no metro district. Town Hall sits at 441 Third Street, Mead Elementary at 520 Welker Avenue and Mead Middle at 620 Welker Avenue, and the Town of Mead's new Community Center — built partly with repurposed materials — has become the civic hub. Longmont is about 10 minutes west, Boulder 20 to 25 minutes, and the I-25 interchange minutes east.
Mead Town is the historic core of the Town of Mead — the compact Main Street grid that has been the center of this Weld County town since it incorporated on March 17, 1908. Expect older, smaller homes on tree-lined streets, walkable access to town services, and the new Mead Community Center a short distance away.
REColorado tracks this as Mead Town — the 1908 grid around Main Street, where the 1906 Main Street building still stands.
This is the one part of town where you can walk to a business district, town hall and the community center.
Plenty of downtown properties sit outside both an HOA and a metropolitan district, which shows up in the monthly payment.
