Northern Colorado Events & Happenings Guide — 2026

Local Guide — 2026-06-29 · 10 min read

Why community events matter when you're buying a home

Choosing where to live is about more than square footage and interest rates. Farmers markets, summer concerts, rodeos, and downtown festivals shape how you experience a city — and they are often what relocators ask about first.

This guide highlights flagship annual events across Northern Colorado. It is curated for home buyers, sellers, and new residents — not a live calendar. For the latest dates, we link to official city and tourism sources. Updated periodically by the SAA Homes team.

Fort Collins events & festivals

Fort Collins blends a walkable Old Town, Colorado State University energy, and one of the country's best craft beer scenes. Summer is especially active downtown.

FoCo Beer Week and Taste of Fort Collins bring thousands to Civic Center Park and Old Town each June. Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest (August) is a free multi-day music festival on Mountain Avenue. The CSU Lagoon Concert Series offers free outdoor shows on campus in June and July.

Year-round, the Fort Collins Farmers Market at Old Town Square is a Saturday staple for local produce and artisans. Visit Fort Collins maintains the most complete community events calendar for the city.

Loveland & Larimer County events

Loveland — the Sweetheart City — is known for Valentine re-mailing, public art, and summer festivals. Sculpture in the Park (August) at Benson Sculpture Garden is one of the largest outdoor sculpture shows in the U.S.

The Corn Roast Festival brings downtown Loveland to life each August. Rhythm on the River offers free summer concerts along the recreation trail. Larimer County Fair at The Ranch in Loveland rounds out the summer with rodeo, carnival, and livestock shows.

Windsor, Timnath & northern Weld-Larimer growth

Windsor's Harvest Festival (September) is the town's signature celebration — parade, carnival, and community gathering. Windsor Lake hosts summer paddleboarding, concerts, and outdoor recreation.

Timnath and Severance continue to grow as master-planned communities; both host seasonal town concerts and holiday events. Buyers relocating for newer construction often ask about these events when comparing Windsor vs Timnath.

Greeley, Evans & Weld County

The Greeley Stampede (June–July) at Island Grove Regional Park is Colorado's legendary rodeo and entertainment festival — PRCA rodeo, national concerts, carnival, and weeks of Weld County celebration.

Greeley Arts Picnic fills Lincoln Park in July. Friday Fest brings downtown Greeley to life on summer Fridays. The University of Northern Colorado adds concerts, athletics, and cultural programming year-round.

Smaller Weld communities — Evans, Eaton, Milliken, La Salle — host their own parades and town days while staying minutes from Stampede and Greeley amenities.

Longmont, Boulder County & the Carbon Valley

Longmont's Farmers Market (April–November) is one of Colorado's largest. Rhythm on the River and Longmont Oktoberfest draw Boulder County residents and Front Range visitors.

Boulder Creek Festival (Memorial Day weekend) and the Colorado Shakespeare Festival on the CU campus are regional draws. Niwot's Jazz Festival and Sunday farmers market offer small-town charm between Boulder and Longmont.

Firestone and Frederick in the Carbon Valley host summer concerts and community celebrations with easy access to Longmont and the I-25 corridor.
